In 2014, the Near West Side Partners, a non-profit organization, was founded through the support of five anchor institutions: Aurora Health Care, Harley-Davidson, Marquette University, MillerCoors and Potawatomi Business Development Corporation. Since then, Marquette has made it a mission to contribute positively to the community by hosting a series of events on and around Marquette’s campus in September, according to the Center for Peacemaking's website.
