A carbon monoxide detector in an apartment in The Ivy woke up residents in a neighboring apartment Nov. 3 at 7 a.m. after Burger King's furnace began to leak.

The Commons are modern, but it only has paper towels in bathrooms

Numerous bathrooms on Marquette University’s campus provide hand dryers, paper towels or both. Many of the more recently constructed buildings have hand dryers, however there is one notable absentee in the hand dryer group: the brand new residence hall The Commons.

Universities differ on contraceptive policies

Many Catholic schools either don’t prescribe birth control at all, or they prescribe it only for non-contraceptive purposes. Marquette is among the latter and will only prescribe birth control for other health reasons.

Marquette University's Project GO Grant has been renewed through 2021. The initiative is through the Department of Defense, which allows the university's Office of International Education to send up to 18 ROTC students to an eight-week summer Arabic language program in Oman.

Construction crews have begun paving a new surface parking lot, Lot D, immediately west of the new Athletic and Human Performance Research Center, which is being constructed on 12th St. across from the Al McGuire Center, Marquette University announced last Thursday in a press release.

New psychology graduate program to be housed in recently purchased property

Marquette University recently announced the launch of a new psychology graduate program, a collaboration between the College of Arts & Sciences and the Graduate School. The program will offer a M.S. degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. It will be housed at 525 N. 6th Street just east of Straz Tower, which was formerly Herzing University, which Marquette recently purchased.
