Next week is a busy one for American citizens. Not only will the next president of the United States of America be announced, but Narciso Rodriguez’s limited-edition line for Kohl’s becomes available November 7.
Rodriguez is the first of Kohl’s Design Nation Collaboration Series to debut his line in stores and online (the second, Derek Lamb will launch in April 2013). You might be wondering why I’m so obssesed with these limited-edition, super-star designer’s clothing lines gracing stores like Kohl’s and Target…well, I don’t think it needs that much explaining, but I’ll do it anyway. Ever flip through the pages of Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar and dream you could afford that Birkin bag, Missoni Romper or those Chanel sunnies you’ve been dying for? Owning pieces by high-end designers is every fashionista/o’s dream, but until that 6-figure pay check starts comin’ in…one can only hope…I buy my designer goods when these limited-edition lines come out. I have such high praise for these designers and stores who launch line collaborations because it makes high-end New York fashion accessible. Not to mention it allows me to get my fix of designer goods for a bargain, and who does’t love that?!
So, if I haven’t convinced you these designer-store collaborations are the hottest thing since the Nikki Minaj, Britney Spears an Ke$ha Till’ the World Ends collaboration…maybe the prices will. While one of Rodriguez’s skirts, tops, or dresses from his personal line may set you back $1,200, his limited-editon Kohl’s line will include pricing anywhere from $64 for one of his figure flattering dresses to $130 for a boldly colored jacket.
