Bears. BEATS. Battlestar Galactica. – Oct. 18

Today on Bears Beats Battlestar Galactica we’re being spontaneous and switching the topic to something completely different than what I announced. Today’s music will all be by the artist Pogo who makes his songs using movie clips, people talking, and simple backbeats.

Pogo, a.k.a. Nick Bertke, started creating his music as a hobby and since then, Pogo has worked with Disney, has been featured in the YouTube Play exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum, and has toured the country playing his music live.

All his songs are available on his website, but I recommend going to his YouTube and checking out the videos that go along with the music. It’s far more impressive when you see the actual clips of the movies with the sounds.

Next week’s topic: Girls and Boys. Songs that differentiate girls and boys or show how similar they can be. Think songs along the lines of “Back in the USSR” by The Beatles, “Alternative Girlfriend” by The Barenaked Ladies, and “American Boys” by Estelle.
