Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton leads Republican candidate Donald Trump 46-40 percent in the Marquette Law Poll released Wednesday, Nov.2.
In the U.S. Senate race in Wisconsin, the poll found 45 percent for Russ Feingold and 44 percent for Ron Johnson, bringing the race within one point. Also in the Senate race, 46 percent of likely voters have favorable view of Russ Feingold while 43 percent have favorable view of Ron Johnson.
For both Senate candidates, 50 percent of likely voters said they were honest. More voters described Feingold as someone “who cares about me” than Johnson at 49 percent and 45 percent, respectively.
The FBI releasing newly found emails and reopening the investigation into Clinton in the middle of the poll had little effect on her polling numbers.
Prior to the FBI announcing the news on Friday, 50 percent of likely voters were significantly bothered by the email scandal. After the released news, the number shot up to 60 percent, but from Saturday to Monday it went dropped to 48 percent.
The poll was conducted Oct. 26-31 and is the last one before the election. The interviews were done by landline and cell phone, reaching 1,401 registered voters in Wisconsin. Of the 1,401 people interviewed, 1,255 claimed they were certain to vote.
