Whole Nine Yards: Week 12 Rankings

Whole+Nine+Yards%3A+Week+12+Rankings

By Zac Bellman

QB rankings:

  1. Drew Brees (Saints) at Atlanta – Brees completed 70 percent of his passes for 305 yards and a touchdown last week against the tough 49ers defense, and it gets much easier this week against the 22nd ranked Atlanta pass defense.
  2. Peyton Manning (Broncos) at New England – Manning always puts a little extra into his matchups with Tom Brady, and the Patriots have given up over 600 yards and seven touchdowns against the pass in the last two weeks.
  3. Eli Manning (Giants) vs. Dallas – Dallas is dead last in the league in pass defense and Eli went off for four touchdowns and 450 yards in their first meeting.
  4. Matthew Stafford (Lions) vs. Tampa Bay – Passed for an unreal 327 in the first half, only to completely collapse in the second and only manage another 35 yards. Tampa Bay should provide an opportunity for a much more consistent game this time around.
  5. Case Keenum (Texans) vs. Jacksonville – Coming off the worst of his four starts this year, but should find holes in a secondary that has given up three straight 20+ point fantasy performances.
  6. Tom Brady (Patriots) vs. Denver
  7. Andrew Luck (Colts) at Arizona
  8. Scott Tolzien (Packers) vs. Minnesota
  9. Tony Romo (Cowboys) at New York Giants
  10. Josh McCown (Bears) at St. Louis
  11. Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers) at Cleveland
  12. Alex Smith (Chiefs) vs. San Diego
  13. Mike Glennon (Buccaneers) at Detroit
  14. Colin Kaepernick (49ers) at Washington
  15. Matt Ryan (Falcons) vs. New Orleans

RB rankings:

  1. Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) vs. San Diego – The Chiefs should be able to get back to dominating on defense and controlling the clock on offense this week against the Chargers. This should mean a bounce back week for Charles.
  2. Zac Stacy (Rams) vs. Chicago – Chicago has given up five straight 100+ yard games to running backs and Stacy is no longer on the injury report for his foot so he should remain hot this week.
  3. Ben Tate (Texans) vs. Jacksonville – Tate is a bit beat up with injuries but against the Jaguars 32nd ranked run defense he shouldn’t take too many big hits.
  4. Knowshon Moreno (Broncos) at New England – Moreno was subbed out for a pair of goal line touchdowns to Montee Ball last week, but still saw 27 carries and is a strong play in standard scoring leagues.
  5. Matt Forte (Bears) at St. Louis – Forte will likely remain the focal point of Marc Trestman’s balanced attack with Jay Cutler missing another game due to injury.
  6. Reggie Bush (Lions) vs. Tampa Bay
  7. Rashad Jennings (Raiders) vs. Tennessee
  8. Adrian Peterson (Vikings) at Green Bay
  9. Chris Johnson (Titans) at Oakland
  10. Bobby Rainey (Buccaneers) at Detroit
  11. Chris Ogbonnaya (Browns) vs. Pittsburgh
  12. Pierre Thomas (Saints) at Atlanta
  13. Eddie Lacy (Packers) vs. Minnesota
  14. Frank Gore (49ers) at Washington
  15. Donald Brown (Colts) at Arizona

WR rankings:

  1. Calvin Johnson (Lions) vs. Tampa Bay – Put up 179 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half against Pittsburgh before taking the second half off. Darrelle Revis could present a bit more of a challenge but Johnson is still a great play.
  2. Andre Johnson (Texans) vs. Jacksonville – Johnson has seen 42 targets in the last three games, including a whopping 17 with the combination of Case Keenum and Matt Schaub throwing to him.
  3. Jordy Nelson (Packers) vs. Vikings – Nelson caught two touchdowns in the last meeting with Minnesota, albeit with a much better quarterback. However Tolzien has started to develop chemistry with Nelson, evidenced by Nelson’s eight catches for 117 yards against the Giants.
  4. Victor Cruz (Giants) vs. Dallas – Cruz caught three touchdowns in the first meeting with Dallas in Week 1, and their secondary has not gotten much better so he could be salsa dancing quite a bit this week.
  5. Demaryius Thomas (Broncos) at New England – Thomas caught five passes for 121 yards last week and should get plenty of opportunities with the Patriots secondary dealing with injuries.
  6. Brandon Marshall (Bears) at St. Louis
  7. Vincent Jackson (Buccaneers) at Detroit
  8. Harry Douglas (Falcons) vs. New Orleans
  9. Pierre Garcon (Redskins) vs. San Francisco
  10. Torrey Smith (Ravens) vs. New York Jets
  11. T.Y. Hilton (Colts) at Arizona
  12. Wes Welker (Broncos) at New England
  13. Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) vs. San Diego
  14. Dez Bryant (Cowboys) at New York Giants
  15. Marques Colston (Saints) at Atlanta
