When it comes to fashion I have a very relaxed style, but I have learned that the white collared button-down shirt isn’t just something to wear to work. This “key piece” is a timeless look and is stunning on everyone. I recommend buying two versions of a white button-down shirt. I find it helpful to have one that fits perfectly for a chic preppy look and then one that is oversized for a more laid-back look. I prefer to wear mine over my LBD tied half way up in a knot or I match it with high waisted shorts and converse. The white collared button-down can be mixed and matched with jeans, shorts, skirts and can be paired with heels, boots, or sandals. By doing this you are giving yourself a wider and more versatile closet, with different “key pieces” to choose from that work for any season. You can find most classic white button-down shirts at almost every store. I prefer H&M or Forever21 because they have a wide variety of styles.

Key hint: Now I know what you are thinking, White? Why spend money on something that is bound to get stained? Whether it’s deodorant stains, food, makeup, grass or dirt, it feels like there’s always something that’s bound to ruin it. I know how frustrating it is, but that doesn’t mean you should avoid buying white clothing. Instead, here are some tips on how to keep your whites like brand new. Skip the bleach and instead soak the stain in hydrogen peroxide then let it dilute in water or pop an aspirin in the washing machine when it is full of water.
