DYSART: COVID-19 response temporary success, not climate action victory

Social and industrial responses to COVID-19 have caused global greenhouse gas emissions to decrease. This cannot be celebrated as a victory for climate action because the changes causing lower emissions are occurring under dire circumstances that will eventually subside and lead emissions to increase to previous levels.
