With the amount of students taking on Twitter accounts, it’s no surprise that Marquette’s presence on the Twitter scene is growing. In no particular order, here are five of Marquette’s most interesting Twitter birds.

1. @HerbertLowe

Herbert Lowe is a journalism professor at Marquette, and his extensive 22-year journalism career and previous position as president of the National Association for Black Journalists has given him a lot to talk (or rather, tweet) about. Lowe uses Twitter to interact with students and to post updates on his blog, and this makes his Twitter feed lively and engaging. It is certainly one to follow.

2. @ShitMUDoesntSay

Though ShitMUDoesntSay is unaffiliated with Marquette, many of its witty tweets reflect the thoughts of the student body. Its list of followers has grown extensively, and it is frequently re-tweeted by Marquette students. This Twitter account will definitely put a smile on your face, and with midterms coming up this week, it deserves some recognition.

3. @PaintTouches

With play-by-plays, photos and links to transcripts from men’s basketball games, Paint Touches offers a wide variety of information on the men’s basketball team that is especially helpful during away games, since students are less likely to attend away games and need a way to keep up with the score off the court.

4. @DannyPudi

Danny Pudi is a Marquette alum who currently stars as Abed on the NBC comedy “Community”. Pudi often posts funny pictures from on set and exchanges witty banter with his costars Allison Brie (who also stars on the television show ‘Mad Men’) and Yvette Nicole Brown. Pudi sometimes tweets about Marquette too, which makes his twitter feed one to watch.

5. @MarquetteU

The official Marquette University Twitter account has been nationally recognized as the ninth most influential college Twitter account in the United States, according to the online company Klout, which measures company Twitter reputations. With over 14,000 Twitter followers, Marquette’s Twitter gives the student body a direct gateway to the administration, making student-university interactions instantaneous. Students can tweet Marquette directly and receive prompt responses, and this makes @MarquetteU an essential account to follow.
