Highly decorated recruits targeted by Marquette

SG D’Angelo Harrison: #41 on Rivals.com, 6’3”, 186 pounds, Fort Bend, TX, 4 Star Recruit
Harrison is more of a combination guard than a pure shooting guard because of his smaller stature, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing on a Marquette team that loves to get up and down the floor without a true point guard. In AAU action over the summer Harrison constantly scored in the high thirties. He’s driven by a scorer’s mentality which is something Marquette has lacked last year: someone who can take you off the dribble at any given time.

PF Mike Shaw: #58 on Rivals, 6’8,” 213 pounds, Chicago, Ill., 4 Star Recruit
On a team in which there’s only one player taller than 6’8”, Marquette can use all the height it can get. Shaw loves to get up and down the floor, which would fit perfectly with Marquette’s get-up-and-go offense. Shaw is a great rebounder on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor; rebounding is always a concern with a shorter team. He’s a strong finisher above the rim and works well in the fast break.

SG Nick Faust: #42 on Rivals, 6’5,” 170 pounds, Baltimore, Md., 4 Star Recruit
Marquette currently lacks shooting guards on its team with the “L” word: length. Length is what makes Faust different from any shooting guard currently on Marquette’s roster. He’s able to hit the outside jumper that Marquette loves to take but also can take his defender off the dribble. One report referenced him as a Stephen Curry type of player because he looks innocent but is a cold-blooded killer.

PG Ky Madden: #27 on Rivals, 6’4,” 170 pounds, Lepanto, Arkansas
Madden is another combo guard that would fit well in Marquette’s run-and-gun offensive style. He loves to get up and down the floor quickly and loves to be the guy leading the break. Madden gets at it on the offensive and defensive end of the floors equally and uses his size and length well to hassle smaller guards.
