DPS Reports 3/30

March 26

At 11:25 p.m., two students were in possession of alcohol in Abbottsford Hall. The resident assistant on duty was called to the room due to noise violations. When the RA entered the room, one of the residents became disorderly and uncooperative. The RA called the Department of Public Safety to respond and the student admitted to acting in a disorderly manner. Bottles and cans of beer were confiscated from the room.

March 28

At 12:30 a.m., DPS responded after a student discharged a fire extinguisher and activated a fire alarm without reason in the basement of Campus Town East. The suspect, an 18-year old male student, was caught on camera discharging the fire extinguisher. Another 19-year old student accompanied the suspect. The 18-year old was not cooperative with DPS officers and he was taken into Milwaukee Police Department custody for disorderly conduct. The 19-year old acquaintance of the suspect was cooperative and was allowed to leave the building.

At 9:20 a.m., unknown persons vandalized a fire hose housing unit in Schroeder Hall. The glass door was shattered. The damage is estimated at $50. Facilities Services was contacted.

At 1:17 a.m., DPS responded to a disorderly conduct incident at the Walgreen’s store on the corner of 16th Street and Wisconsin Avenue. A person not affiliated with Marquette was reportedly kicking the glass doors of the store. Upon confrontation, the man reached into his pocket and claimed to have a weapon. DPS officers detained the suspect and MPD took him into custody. No weapon was found at the scene.
