Lindsay, I agree completely. While an amusing concept, the Mail Goggles function does take away a large degree of personal responsibility. Why should our e-mail accounts have to protect us from ourselves? Shouldn’t we be smart and responsible enough to avoid our computers if we’ve been drinking?
And let’s be honest, if someone is coherent enough to turn on their computer and log into their e-mail account, they’re probably also sober enough to pull up their computer’s calculator function to help them with the math problems. If G-mail really wanted to protect its drunken users, maybe it should ask them to diagram a sentence… Now that’s really difficult!
