The Marquette women’s soccer schedule is being released little by little and day by day on the team’s Twitter and Facebook pages, and is already into September.
Here is the team’s schedule in August, with the first game of the season coming at Valley Fields on the 17th.
Thursday, August 9th: vs. Wisconsin @ Valley Fields (Scrimmage), 1 PM
Friday, August 17th: vs. St. Bonaventure @ Valley Fields, 7:30 PM
Sunday, August 19th: vs. Florida State @ Valley Fields, 1 PM
Friday, August 24th: vs. UW-Milwaukee @ Valley Fields, 8:30 PM
Sunday, August 26th: @ St. Louis, 5:30 PM
Friday, August 31st: @ Northwestern, 7 PM
The team was eliminated by Florida State in 2010 NCAA Tournament, and lost to the Seminoles 3-1 in Tallahassee last September. Florida State was a No. 1 seed in last fall’s NCAA Tournament, and made it to the Final Four.
UW-Milwaukee also made the NCAA Tournament, losing in the round of 32, like Marquette. The Panthers and Golden Eagles played last year in a classic at Engelmann Field on the campus of UWM, in a game that Marquette won 1-0 thanks to a Meagan Kelly goal in double-overtime.
