Saturday night, the UFC returns to the Bradley Center for the first time since August 2011. That was a much smaller card and the first the UFC had hosted in Wisconsin. This time around, headliners Milwaukee’s Anthony Pettis and UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson, who fought on the first card in Milwaukee two years ago, meet for the belt in what could be the fight of the year.

Friday afternoon, the fighters tipped the scales at the the Bradley Center and all 24 fighters made their weight and will fight for a full purse tomorrow.

The loudest cheer of the afternoon came for Pettis, who weighed in at 154.5 pounds for his 155-pound title fight. The Milwaukee native made a name for himself in the WEC in his first fight with Henderson in 2010, when he landed a flying kick aided by the cage. Henderson, who trains in Glendale, Ariz. and hails from Issaquah, Washington, weighed in at 155.

Other loud cheers resonated when the card’s additional local fighters took the stage. Milwaukee’s own Erik Koch(145) and Chico Camus (135) received loud ovations. The crowd also appreciated Kenosha’s Ben Rothwell (262) and Germany’s Pascal Krauss (170), who trains at Roufusport in Milwaukee.

The co-main event Saturday night features two former UFC Heavyweight champions, as Frank Mir (248) takes on Josh Barnett (255). Another big fight on the card involves Round Lake, Ill. native Clay Guida (146) against No. 1 Featherweight contender Chad Mendes.
