Fantasy Focus

Play him: Peyton Hillis, RB, Cleveland Browns

At this point it looks like Hillis has locked up the majority of the carries in the backfield for the Browns and should be a starting running back in all fantasy formats. The “other” Peyton has totaled 49 carries and 246 yards over his last two games after getting only 17 attempts in the first two contests. Cleveland is a terrible offensive team, so Hillis should get any and every chance to score from here on out.

Sit him: Brandon Lloyd, WR, Denver Broncos

The born-again Lloyd has taken Jay-Z’s lyrics to heart: Over the first four games he’s had 99 problems, but a catch ain’t one. He’s reeled in 25 catches so far, including 11 last week to go with 115 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, one of Lloyd’s problems is quarterback Kyle Orton, who has played great recently but has struggled against elite defenses in the past. Ray Lewis and the Ravens are on deck for this week’s matchup, so expect Lloyd to be contained for the first time this season. If you have a better option at wideout, he’d be a much safer bet.

Get him: Mark Clayton, WR, St. Louis Rams

Clayton has been slow and steady through the first four games, averaging 10 points per game in standard ESPN leagues. With rookie quarterback Sam Bradford progressing nicely and zeroing in on Clayton as his favorite target, the receiver can continue to produce solid numbers. Clayton is the kind of player who can quietly help you win your league.
