Nov. 24

At 11:10 a.m., a male student reported that an unknown person smashed the front window and forcibly entered his secured, unattended vehicle in the 600 block of North 18th Street. It appeared a rock found inside the vehicle was used to smash the window. Two jackets were removed. Damage was estimated at $300 and the removed property was valued at $225. Milwaukee Police Department assistance was declined.

At 2:10 p.m., a Department of Public Safety officer met with a male student who said he was advised by an unknown third party that two unknown suspects had entered his unsecured, attended residence in the 900 block of North 18th Street and removed property from his basement. He checked and realized that the subjects had taken an empty quarter barrel of beer. The estimated loss is $35. MPD assistance was declined.

Nov. 27

At 7:43 p.m., DPS officers were dispatched to the rear of the Dental School in response to two suspects not affiliated with Marquette removing light fixtures. Officers observed on camera the suspects loitering and removing the fixtures from the ground. An officer stopped the two subjects and MPD was contacted. The suspects were arrested for theft, criminal damage to property and trespassing. The lights were valued at a total of $1,200 and the damage was estimated at $600.

Nov. 29

At 4:57 a.m., a DPS officer was flagged down by an Open Pantry employee. A 45-year-old male suspect not affiliated with Marquette had concealed property in his jacket as he left the store. The employee walked outside and pointed out the suspect to the officer. The suspect was stopped in the 800 block of North 17th Street. When asked, the man said he picked up toothpaste but returned it. He consented to have his jacket patted down. Four sticks of deodorant and a can of body spray were concealed in the sleeves of his jacket. The estimated value is $65.
