Marquette has joined other schools across the state as members of Gov. Jim Doyle's Wisconsin Covenant program, which would guarantee Wisconsin eighth graders a spot in one of the state's colleges or universities.
The Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, comprised of Marquette and 19 other schools, joined the University of Wisconsin System and the Wisconsin Technical Colleges in signing onto the agreement. Doyle and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Elizabeth Burmaster also added their signatures to the agreement at a signing ceremony on Sept. 6.
