Due to an excessive amount of search committees trying to fill open upper-level positions, the university announced today it is forming a search committee to search for committees to make searches.
The goal in forming the search committee is to always have committees to make searches regardless of how many people resign.
“Our estimates suggest we will have at least 10-20 more major resignations because of course,” the university press release said. “It is important to always have search committees to refill those positions – possibly more important than the positions themselves.”
The search committee to search for committees to make searches joins the presidential search committee, the provost search committee, the business dean search committee and the Department of Public Safety Chief search committee on the list of Marquette committees making searches.
The search committee to search for committees to make searches does not yet have a chair because it is still searching for one.
