Tedrick A. Boone, the 34-year-old charged in the Feb. 18 sexual assault and armed robbery of a female Marquette University student, pleaded not guilty April 9.
Boone is suspected of first-degree sexual assault with the use of a dangerous weapon and armed robbery, according to online court records. His cash bond is set at $100,000.
The incident occurred on the 900 block of 14th Street around 2 a.m. on Feb. 18 when a female Marquette student was walking to her residence. In the alley near 14th street, Boone threatened her with a handgun, sexually assaulted her and took her cell phone.
On Feb. 26, the university sent out an update that police took an individual into custody.
According to the criminal complaint, Boone tried to flee twice from cops upon his Feb. 26 arrest at a facility on West Vliet Street. He denied having contact with any Marquette students when questioned by police.
While reviewing surveillance footage from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning on 12th Street, police identified a subject matching the defendant’s description leading the victim into the alley around 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 18.
On Feb. 20, officers recovered a tan coat from under the porch of a vacant home on West Highland Avenue with a gun in the pocket and a used condom nearby. The evidence was tested and came back positive for Boone’s DNA.
Wisconsin court records show Boone had an active warrant for two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree sexual assault from incidents in 2018 and 2019. The 2019 sexual assault took place on the Milwaukee Area Technical College campus.
Boone remains in custody, with his next court date scheduled for May 21.
