The Marquette’s men’s tennis team announced it has added a ninth member to its roster with the addition of freshman Greg Anderson, who is transferring from Texas Christian. He will likely sit out the spring season before joining the Golden Eagles competitively in fall 2016.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be adding a player of Greg’s ability mid-year, as he will be an excellent addition to our program,” head coach Steve Rodecap told GoMarquette.com. “He is an extremely hard worker and is very committed to his academics and tennis. He will be a big part of our team moving forward and we look forward to welcoming him to the Marquette family.”
Anderson is a Tuscon, Arizona native. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and was the No. 2 ranked player in Arizona in the class of 2015. He ranked No. 96 in the top-100 national rankings.
Competing for TCU this fall, he compiled a 3-3 record in singles play and a 1-2 record in doubles. Anderson also gained top-notch experience when he played in the pre-qualifying draw of the ITA-All-American Championship.
Marquette opens its spring season on Jan. 22 with a match against IUPUI at Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 6 p.m.
