Marquette defenseman B.J. Grill was named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association today.
Grill graduated this week with a bacelor’s degree in political science and a 3.4 grade-point average according to GoMarquette.com. He has been selected to the Big East first-team the past two seasons, emerging as the team’s top defenseman and one of it’s most vocal leaders.
“I am extremely proud of what B.J. has been able to accomplish during his four years at Marquette, both academically and on the field,” Marquette head coach Joe Amplo told GoMarquette.com. “He has been with us since day one and consistently challenges himself and his teammates to be at their best. His work ethic and desire to succeed have pushed our entire program forward and we look forward to another great year from him in 2015-16.”
Grill will begin working on his graduate degree as he completes his final year of eligibility with the team next season.
