Volleyball Faces Setback
No. 25 Marquette lost for the first time since Oct. 14 to end its five-game win streak in a 1-1 week.
- After losing the first set against the DePaul Blue Demons Wednesday, the Golden Eagles were able to come back during the second set leading with 18 kills and ultimately win the match 3-1.
- Later that week, Marquette fell short during its game against No. 17 Creighton Sunday, getting swept 3-0.
- Junior setter Yadhira Anchante saw the court for the first time in six matches and finished with 20 assists.
Women’s Basketball to Defend Ranking
The Golden Eagles start their 2023-24 campaign against the UT Martin Skyhawks Monday at 12 p.m. CST.
- Marquette has six new players and two new assistant coaches on its roster.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled about the women we have brought into this program,” head coach Megan Duffy said at a media availability last week.
Men’s Basketball Back in Action
Marquette will face Northern Illinois for their first game of the season at home Monday at 7:30 p.m CST.
- The 2023 Big East Championship banner will be hung at 7:10 p.m. before tip-off.
- The first 10,000 fans at the Fiserv will go home with a banner to commemorate the 2023 Big East Championship.
- Senior guard Tyler Kolek earned Preseason Consensus First Team All American honors.
