Marquette named three finalists Monday to fill the empty dean position in the College of Engineering and said the candidates will visit campus for presentations as early as April 14.
The three candidates include:
- Simon Ng: Associate dean for research and graduate students and professor of chemical engineering and materials science at Wayne State Universty (visiting April 14 from 11 a.m. to noon)
- Kristina Ropella: Interim dean for Marquette’s College of Engineering and professor of biochemical engineering (presenting on campus April 21 from noon to 1 p.m.)
- Charles Fleddermann: Professor of electrical and computer engineering and associate dean of the School of Engineering at the University of New Mexico (visiting April 22 from 11 a.m. to noon)
Whoever is chosen as dean will fill the position left open by Robert Bishop, who resigned last summer to become dean at the University of South Florida’s College of Engineering.
Marquette is also hosting visits for candidates vying for the dean position in the College of Business Administration, announced last week.
The university will provide online feedback forms for each of the candidates soon.
