June 12 will mark a year since Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski debuted in his MLB career.
“The Miz” (7-2) has been known in the baseball world for the speed at which he can strike out a batter. And he’s part of the reason why The Crew ranks fourth in the MLB when it comes to the team’s ERA (3.39) behind the New York Yankees (3.27).
It’s also why the Brewers currently lead the NL Central, with the Cardinals sitting at 5.5 games behind.
The 24-year-old flamethrower is coming into the month of June after an astonishing month of May, where he went almost an entire month without allowing a single run.
Across 38.1 innings pitched, the Blue Springs, MO native had a 0.23 ERA with one earned run, 57 strikeouts — a new franchise record for any pitcher in a calendar month — and a 0.52 WHIP.
Against the Houston Astros on May 30, he pitched seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts.
When it came to the series against the St. Louis Cardinals, Misiorowski tied a career high of 12 strikeouts in seven innings, allowing just two hits.
“I mean, that’s decent,” Misiorowski told MLB after finishing off the month.
He was also the first in MLB to reach 100 strikeouts.
But success wasn’t just limited to him. Baseball, after all, is a team sport. Also in May, the Brewers collected seven series wins, three series sweeps, a 19-7 record (the best in MLB) and a 2.52 ERA (also the best in MLB).
All of this happened across 31 days. Just because the calendar switched to the month of June doesn’t mean the 2025 All-Stars’ success ends. In fact, it’s only improved.
On May 25, he reached 103 mph or more eight times in the first inning and hit triple digits 57 times. According to MLB, it’s “10 more than any other pitcher since the pitch tracking era began in 2008.”

It’s what led him to start the month out being named the National League Pitcher of the Week on June 1.

On June 6, he beat his own record he set in May, pitching at 103.7 mph, marking a new record for any starter.
So far this season, he ranks first in ERA (1.50), strikeouts (116) and WHIP (0.81).
It hasn’t even been a year since he took the mound. Just imagine what his career will look like a year from now.
