Marquette bolstered its roster by adding redshirt sophomore Pete Thaus to the roster as a walk-on. The move counters the departures of sophomores Deonte Burton and John Dawson, who announced they would be leaving the program upon the conclusion of the fall semester. The team confirmed the news via Twitter.
The 6-foot-2 guard transferred from Indiana to Marquette at the beginning of the academic year. Thaus did not play for Indiana during his time at the school and was serving as a student manager for Marquette this season. Thaus, along with fellow Indiana transfer Luke Fischer will boost Marquette up to 10 players on the roster, with only nine of them being eligible to play this year.
Thaus graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Ill. in 2012. He was a three-year letter winner and was ranked the 75th best recruit in the state for the class of 2012 by MaxPreps.com.
Thaus will wear number 42 and is eligible to play Dec. 16 against Arizona State.
