Coach Steve Wojciechowski landed his most coveted recruit Thursday morning when Henry Ellenson committed to Marquette, denying storied programs such as Michigan State and Kentucky. Ellenson, ranked No. 4 in ESPN’s Top 100, joins four-star recruits Nick Noskowiak, Matt Heldt and Haanif Cheatham in what is regarded as one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.
Ellenson, a Rice Lake, Wis., native, comes to a program that will rely heavily on the younger players. Standing 6-foot-10 and weighing 230 pounds, Ellenson will see minutes as a freshman as a power forward.
Wojciechowski now has four Top-100 recruits in his 2015 recruiting class, and Ellenson is his first five-star recruit. When Ellenson comes to Marquette next fall, he will be playing with his older brother Wally.
