San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili obviously hates Halloween.
It was in the first quarter during his Oct. 31 game against Sacramento when a bat that somehow got into the arena began flying around the court, temporarily stopping play. The bat could not be corralled, and play resumed. But it was not long before it began interfering again.
The bat flew past Ginobili, and in an absolutely incredible display of hand-eye coordination, he snatched it out of mid-air, slapped it to the ground and walked it off the floor in his hand. He deservedly got a standing ovation from the crowd. Hell, I’m applauding right now.

Manu had to get preventative rabies shots after the game, but is fine. And according to the San Antonio Express-News Web site, team officials said the bat eventually escaped again. Most likely to hunt Ginobili down and kill him.
It’s too late for this year, but I came up with some Halloween costume options for Manu on the next Oct. 31. You’re welcome, buddy.
Michael Scott, Dunder-Mifflin Scranton: Held rabies awareness Fun-Run (For the Cure).
Ace Ventura, Pet Detective: Mortally afraid of bats. Had to hold one.
The Joker: Arch-nemesis of Batman. Pretty self-explanatory.
