Fast offense
Marquette got out of the gates hot, outscoring UT Martin 26-13 in the first 10 minutes.
After sophomore forward Anaya Brown hit a layup to put the Skyhawks up 4-2 with 8:34 to go in the first quarter, Hare went on a personal 8-0 run, and the Golden Eagles would not trail for the rest of the game.
With 4:58 left in the frame, Brown hit a pair of free throw to cut Marquette’s lead to one, but a 3-pointer from King just 14 seconds later would be the start of a 14-2 Marquette run over the last four and half minutes of the quarter.
But the Golden Eagles didn’t stop there, as they would start the second quarter on a 13-2 run to extend the lead their lead to 23 points.
It was all Marquette after that, as their lead would not dip below 16 for the rest of the game, ending in the 84-51 victory.
