Marquette senior guard Natisha Hiedeman will be playing at the professional level after the Minnesota Lynx drafted her Wednesday night with the overall No. 18 pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft.
She was then traded less than 30 minutes later to the Connecticut Sun for Duke’s Lexie Brown.
Hiedeman finished her impressive senior season leading the Golden Eagles with 18.1 points per game and 70 steals. She became Marquette’s last Associated Press All-American since Krystal Ellis in 2007.
She also was one of eight players to participate in the Women’s 3-Point Championship Roster in Minneapolis April 4.
The Green Bay, Wisconsin, native ended her Marquette career ranked third all-time with 1,913 career points and holds the record for most 3-pointers made with 301. Hideman was also the BIG EAST Player of the Year.
Allazia Blockton was not drafted Wednesday. She is the only player in program history with three consecutive WBCA All-America Honorable Mention honors and is Marquette’s all-time leading scorer with 2,204 points.
