The Marquette men’s soccer team drew to Seton Hall 0-0 on Saturday at Owen T. Carroll Field. The draw keeps the Golden Eagles ahead of the Pirates in the Blue Division of the Big East standings.
Marquette had 15 shots in the 110 minutes of play, six of which were on goal. Seton Hall could only muster three shots on goal.
Marquette had two opportunities to score in the second half, the first coming from freshman Andrew Krynski. The striker received a cross in the 47th minute and only had to beat the goalkeeper, but could only head the ball off the cross bar.
The Golden Eagles created another scoring opportunity against Seton Hall goalkeeper Paul McHenry in the 67th minute. Junior Anthony Colaizzi retrieved a throw-in on the defensive end and quickly played it up to Krynski who passed the ball through the middle of the field where Anthony Selvaggi beat his defender.
However, Selvaggi wasn’t able to get an accurate shot off and McHenry was able to smother the freshman attacking midfielder.
