Every Thursday at 6:30 Milwaukeean’s gather for the city’s “favorite summer concert series” in Cathedral Square Park to enjoy jazz, wine and picnicking.
Jazz in the Park is quintessentially summer in Milwaukee. I love that our city is small enough to have a must-have summer concert series, and big enough to fill it with enough people to watch for the entire three hours. The city-wide picnicking and dancing is a great way to start your weekend with your fellow Milwaukeeans.
The quirkiest part is the eclectic crowd, including everyone from hipster MIAD students to the old man with the walker in the front dancing. It seems as though every neighborhood in the city is represented at this weekly jam session.
The event runs through the end of September, so if you have not made it yet, make sure to walk straight down Wells Street to the corner of Jackson and enjoy a bottle of wine and some evening dancing with your friends!
