I’ve been feeling a little edgy lately, maybe it’s the drop in temperature or all of the gloomy days we’ve been having, or maybe how angst my classes and professors have been making me feel. Whenever I’m feeling this way, my desire to wear black goes up by 105%. I’ve been gravitating towards all of the blacks that my closet encompasses. From punk and fierce to classy and sophisticated, it can be worn in an unlimited amount of ways. Black’s timeless essence makes it easy to work into any outfit, casual or dressy. It’s such a strong and dynamic color that a little touch of it can go a long way and make anything look a little more edgy. But I must admit I’ve really been into the all-black everything trend. An entire ensemble of black looks so BA, but this look can be tricky and requires a little planning; that ultra dark appearance can sometimes give off an over the top or scary impression. So in order to pull off that intense all-black look without seeming too goth or drab you must keep in mind a few things:
Texture:

Wearing the same color and texture from head to toe becomes too repetitive and blah. All of these ladies do a nice job of incorporating different textures in order to create some depth and visual interest. Using leather is a great way to accomplish this.

Patterns also keep things interesting. Stripes and polka dots add some lightness and spontaneity while still looking fierce.

Adding a small pop of color definitely spices up the monochromatic palette. The contrast of a bright color against black will add a lot of attention to your look.
Accessories:

Spice up your black on black look even more with some bold accessories. Accessories add a lot of personal flavor and erases that drabness.
Above all, just remember to add some of your own flare and keep it enticing. So go ahead, the next time your feeling a bit pissed off or gloomy, embrace it.
