Sheek Pearson is portaling before playing.
With mere hours to spare before the transfer portal closed, the 6-foot-11 big man threw his name into the ring after one redshirt season on Marquette men’s basketball.
Marquette big man Sheek Pearson has entered the transfer portal, source told ESPN. Former top-50 recruit reclassified into the 2025 class and redshirted this past season with the Golden Eagles.

Last week, after adding in the portal center Sananda Fru from Louisville — who looks set to take a lot of the playing time — the Golden Eagles had four big men. Now, the backups are 7-foot-1 Josh Clark and 6-foot-9 Caedin Hamilton.
A former top-50 recruit who forewent his senior season at John Burroughs High School in St. Louis to join Marquette early, Pearson was viewed as the future Golden Eagle center. His height and 7-foot-1 wingspan make him a dangerous shot-blocker, while his mobility makes him a lob threat on the other end of the floor.
Now, he is gone before getting a chance to show it.
