Journalist Jeff German killed outside of his home in Las Vegas

Jeff German, a 69-year-old investigative reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, was stabbed outside of his home Saturday at around 10:33 a.m.

German got his masters degree from Marquette University’s graduate school.

Metropolitan Police Department Captain Dori Koren said German’s neighbor found his body lying by the side of his house.

Police reported that they believe German got into an altercation on Friday ,which led to his death the following day.

“We believe the altercation took place outside of the home,” Koren said.

German was working for the Las Vegas Review-Journal since 2010 and worked at the Las Vegas Sun for nearly two decades before that. German was a columnist and reporter, covering topics such as politics, organized crime, the courts and more.

The police also said that they believe German’s death to be a singular incident and currently do not believe there to be a threat to the public.

Koren also said they have a few leads and  are following a suspect, but the suspect is outstanding.

Executive Editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Glenn Cook said that German hadn’t previously reported any concerns for his safety or mentioned that he was receiving any threats to anyone at the Review-Journal.
