The Marquette board of trustees has a new member in Peggy Troy, president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Health System.
Troy is a 1974 graduate of the College of Nursing and earned her Master’s degree in nursing from DePaul University. Her election to the board was announced today in a press release by the university.
Named CEO of Children’s Hospital and Health Systems in 2009, Troy directs the 12 entities that make up the independent health care system, which works to improve the lives of children through care giving, advocacy, research and education.
Troy served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, she was president and CEO of the Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and president of Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Troy also previously served as an intern at Children’s Hospital and Health System. She currently serves on the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions and on an advisory council for Child Health Corporation of American.
Troy is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee and recently was elected to the boards of directors of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and the Blood Center of Wisconsin. She lives in Pewaukee, Wis.
