I am writing to thank the Tribune for your coverage of the contributions and grants the Marquette University Center for Peacemaking has recently received.
Your article captured the excitement and fun we often share at the center. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of Marquette for the support we have enjoyed in our three years here.
Marquette provides us with space, talent and resources for our center. Best of all, Marquette University allows the center to benefit from the history and prestige of the Marquette name. Henrietta Prehn’s donation is a good example of what I mean.
Clearly the center was not here (and I was not even born!) when Prehn graduated. Yet her love of and respect for her alma mater extended even to this newest of programs at Marquette.
We hope that now and in the future, the center can make Marquette as proud of our work as we are of hers.
The Rev. Simon Harak is the director of the Marquette University Center for Peacemaking.
