The women's basketball team earned its first road victory of the Big East season Saturday against South Florida. Krystal Ellis led the way with 30 points, going 13-27 from the floor in the 79-66 victory. Ellis is now averaging 20.4 points per game this season.
With the win, Marquette improved its record to 11-8 overall, 3-3 in Big East play. Freshman Angel Robinson had five of Marquette's 13 steals. The Golden Eagles forced 24 turnovers in the game. Junior Jazmine Sepulvida led USF with 14 points as Marquette held the Bulls to 28.8 percent shooting from the field.
The Golden Eagles have not won back-to-back games since January 5 when they beat Providence at home. Their next chance to do so will be Wednesday when they take on Georgetown at the Al McGuire Center.
