The purpose of the State Children's Health Insurance Program is to help poor kids—emphasis on poor kids. The new plan allows for coverage of children of families whose annual income is $83,000 in New York and $72,000 in New Jersey. Some states also predict more spending of SCHIP funds on adults than children. I know some adults act like children, but this is certainly a major flaw in the program.
If we are going to help poor kids, let's do it. There is no point in implementing a program in which people who can afford insurance will potentially get it on taxpayers' dollars. Note I did not use the word "free." Government-run healthcare is hardly that, but I won't even go there.
As for Bush being the spawn of Satan, I suppose that is just a liberal way of disrespecting our 43rd president.
