UWM freshman found dead in dorm after party

UWM freshman found dead in dorm after party

MILWAUKEE (AP) – A University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee freshman found dead early Monday morning has been identified as Luke David Murphy of New London.

University spokesman Tom Luljak said police continue to investigate the 19-year-old's death, but do not consider it suspicious.

Murphy was found dead around 6 a.m. at Sandburg Hall after attending an off-campus party the night before. Friends told investigators they saw Murphy drinking at the party. He later visited a friend in Sandburg Hall, decided to sleep over and never woke up.

Police aren't sure whether alcohol contributed to his death. An autopsy is scheduled.

Murphy's death follows that of UWM freshman Ali Marie Raddatz, who died Feb. 21 after consuming alcohol and prescription drugs during an off-campus party.
