Women’s Tennis Brief

The Golden Eagles opened the match by taking the doubles point from the Badgers. After sophomore Christina Ruiz and senior Robin Metzler won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, freshman Paola Calderon and junior Kylie Moore took No.,”The No. 73 Marquette women's tennis team fell to No. 68 Wisconsin Wednesday night, 5-2.

The Golden Eagles opened the match by taking the doubles point from the Badgers. After sophomore Christina Ruiz and senior Robin Metzler won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, freshman Paola Calderon and junior Kylie Moore took No. 1 doubles 8-6 to capture the point for Marquette.

The squad was less successful in singles play. Freshman Olga Fischer won the only singles match of the evening in the No. 2 slot, 6-2, 7-5, marking her eighth-straight singles win.

Sophomore Rachael Hush, who injured her rotator cuff on Sunday versus Illinois State, did not see action in the game. Moore defaulted her match in the No. 4 singles slot due to an unspecified injury.

The Golden Eagles face Villanova in Piscataway, N.J. on Friday at 5 pm.
