"It's true," Bielski said. "But, I'm going to get it, I got it last time.,”Sophomore outside hitter Leslie Bielski is academically ineligible for the women's volleyball spring season. It is the second time Bielski has been ineligible for academic reasons while at Marquette.
"It's true," Bielski said. "But, I'm going to get it, I got it last time."
If Bielski becomes academically eligible after this semester she would be available for the fall 2009 season.
In 2006, as a freshman, Bielski averaged 2.18 kills per game. She then was ineligible for the 2007 season. In 2008, she averaged 2.79 kills per game, second-highest on the team.
Bielski's offensive abilities were a bright spot during a tumultuous 2008 season as she started nearly every match at outside hitter. Her absence this spring will certainly create a hole at that position.
Head coach Bond Shymansky declined to comment on Bielski's status in an interview last week.
