According to Tom Pionek, senior Web strategist, the university has been working through the summer to put together the new Web site, which is available in testing form at demo.mu.edu/edu/.
Pionek said the site will go live in late September, with the university shooting for Sept. 24.
The site features more interactive technology and on-campus photography, Pionek said.
"What we're trying to do is align the Web site more with what we're doing in print," Pionek said.
He said the photography would rotate depending on the season.
According to Pionek, the site is also coded differently in hopes that it will generate more results on major search engines. Pionek said the site itself has "Google mini," which will help organize search results within the site.
The search tool is located on the top of the page with a redesigned navigation system, which Pionek said, will help people who enter a page within the site from an outside search engine and don't know where to go from there.
The main purpose of the demo site is to get input on what works and what doesn't before the site officially launches, he said.
"What we're really looking for is lots and lots of feedback from students," Pionek said.
