The meet would have been the track and field team's first home meet since 2003.
Illinois-Chicago and Wisconsin-Milwaukee informed Marquette head coach Dave Uhrich late Wednesday they were dropping out.
"They were the only other two Division I schools that were scheduled to compete," Uhrich said. "We just wanted everyone here and to have a great meet. But, that's Milwaukee weather for you."
Friday's and Saturday's weather turned out nicer than the forecast had predicted. Members of the track team said the meet probably could have taken place had Illinois-Chicago and Wisconsin-Milwaukee not dropped out.
The throw field would have been in rough shape for Saturday's competition, though, Uhrich said. The melted snow would have made for mushy conditions.
"It's unfortunate because (the meet) would have been a lot of fun," Uhrich said.
The team will now look toward sending three of its top athletes to Friday's Oregon Invitational. Senior distance runner Tommy Schmitz and junior distance runners Cassie Peller and Scott Mueller qualified for the meet.
