Apparently Jesus saw his shadow Sunday, which means six more weeks of winter for us. This cold spell has put REWIND in a sour mood.
Although we were surprised to see the Tom Crean-Kentucky speculation end so abruptly when the Wildcats hired Texas A&M's Billy Gillispie Friday (another offseason, another rumor that a school wants to hire Crean, right?), we were more troubled by the ease with which Division I coaches leave schools and recruits high and dry.
Take Dana Altman, who said he was leaving Creighton to take the head coaching job at Arkansas, only to change his mind a day later and return to Creighton. Two jumps in a week? I bet you think that's pretty clever, Dana, don't you, boy? After all, drawing 17,000 at the Qwest Center Omaha with Missouri Valley Conference talent was the best thing you ever had, the best thing you ever, ever had.
Bob Huggins, where's your loyalty to Kansas State when you jump ship after one season? Do Bill Walker and Michael Beasley get to follow Huggins to West Virginia? Yes, but they might have to sit out a year. Huggins can coach right away.
