In response to Sebastian Ruecker ("Bad service as American as apple pie"):
I would like to give my viewpoint, as a Brew Bayou employee. First, the Brew does not personally make the bakery items we sell. Oftentimes, we are unsure what flavor our pies are until we cut into them. Typically, we do not cut into the pies until someone orders a slice or asks us what flavor it is because they stay fresher if they are not cut.
If you have ever tried the pie, you would know the crust is very moist and the top of the pie is crumbly. While delicious, it is difficult to cut and serve and sometimes it falls apart. It may not look perfect, but it is still delicious and the fact is, our pie is crumbly.
As far as how long it takes to get your order, the Brew is like any other business. You take an order, prepare the order and serve the order. Then you move on to the next customer. Our ultimate goal is to prepare your order quickly but carefully. I believe most people would rather wait the extra moment or two to have their order freshly and properly prepared.
Also like any other business, the Brew would prefer not to give refunds. We prefer to offer a substitute product. Due to the fact that we sell food and beverages, refunds are uncommon. Our goal is to make your Brew experience a good one. Thus, we offer you an alternative product. Businesses do not want to offer refunds without first trying to please the customer. The Brew is no exception to that.
On the same note, to refund is defined as to "make repayment." If you have paid for a product that you no longer want, you are looking for a refund.
The Brew employees are students, just like you. We go to work and serve people all day. I do serve people with a smile because I believe that is better received by customers and fellow employees than being crabby and frowning. But the Brew does not "screw the customer … with a smile." We simply do our jobs and try to make the Brew a successful business. That's just the way the pie crumbles.
