To the Editor,
I agree with Democratic Presidential candidate Tom Vilsack that our elected officials in Congress have a moral responsibility to exercise their authority to stop funding President Bush's failed policy in Iraq.
They need to act now.
So far, Tom Vilsack is the only candidate to call for redeployment from Iraq as soon as possible. Not "stay the course," not a meaningless troop cap, and a stretched-out timeline.
As an American, I am speaking up and asking those in Washington, D.C., to do what the vast majority of Americans believe is the best course: Bring our troops home.
I honestly question the talent pool that wants the citizens of the United States to elect them the next president simply because everyone is complaining but not doing anything.
This is a formula that ultimately leads to nothing.
But it seems to me that only Tom Vilsack is willing to say it.
It's true, we need to support Washington outsiders like Vilsack to make real change becuase they are the only ones with real plans for real change.
Thanks.
