People braved the icy waters of Half Moon Lake in Eau Claire on Sunday; they were among several hundred persons participating in an annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Seven Marquette students in the Marquette & Friends group will be attending this Sunday's Polar Plunge in Muskego County Park.

They've raised $1,379.37 so far; to donate, go to http://specialolympicswisconsin.org/polar_plunge.asp.

Participants in the Polar Plunge jump into lakes and rivers despite frigid temperatures every year.
