At 3:36 p.m., an 18-year-old man not affiliated with Marquette attempted to gain re-entry to McCormick Hall after being checked out by a female resident. The desk receptionist tried to explain to the man about the proper check-in procedures, but the man tried to enter again. The desk receptionist stopped the man. DPS was contacted and the man fled. DPS was able to get the man's contact information. The Milwaukee Police Department was contacted and the man will receive a citation for disorderly conduct. The man has also been advised to stay off Marquette property.

At 2:02 p.m., a 30-year-old female assistant professor reported that an unknown person removed an unsecured, unattended university-owned laptop computer valued at $1,700 from Schroeder Complex. The professor's black laptop case and a wireless mouse were also taken. Estimated loss is $100. MPD was contacted.

Jan. 24

At 12:01 a.m., a DPS officer observed a 51-year-old man not affiliated with Marquette trespassing in the Union Sports Annex. The man has had prior encounters with DPS. MPD was contacted and cited the man for trespassing.
