At 7:17 p.m., a 20-year-old female reported witnessing a 24-year-old male smashing the window of a car parked in the 500 block of North 16th Street, which belongs to a 24-year-old male patron of the Rec Center. Department of Public Safety officers saw the suspect attempt to flee the scene on foot. West Allis Police officers passing through the city saw the situation and prevented the suspect from leaving North16th Street by blocking off the street. Milwaukee Police Department officers were contacted, and the suspect was taken into custody for theft from an automobile. Estimated damage to the car is $500, and $5 of property was stolen.
