The lane reductions and ramp closures allow the contractor to prepare for the major traffic shift on April 18 which will put all southbound traffic in the northbound roadway. Two lanes in each direction will be maintained in the northbound roadway at that time.

On April 18, the Kilbourn Tunnel on ramp from West Kilbourn Avenue to northbound I-43 will also be closing. The alternate route for the Kilbourn Tunnel on ramp is to enter northbound I-43 at North 6th Street and West McKinley Avenue.

Additionally, the North 11th and West Wells streets off ramp from southbound I-43 will be closing April 18. The alternate route has motorists exit at North Avenue and follow 6th Street south to campus.

Beams will going up for the new Wells Street Bridge on the nights of April 11 and 12, which will require a freeway closure in one direction each night. The beam installation will not be disruptive to those residents on the northeast side of campus.
